About the event

On an unexpected road trip down Route 66, three estranged siblings uncover a startling family secret and larger truths about being Asian American in a post-COVID world. The novel addresses themes of fractured families, immigrant lives, the way we travel, and divisions in the home and the nation. Author and actress Sarah Winman describes it as ‘Heartbreaking, beautiful, and confronting.’


Join author Winnie Li in discussion on her inspiration her this novel. A book signing will follow the talk. 

Dr. Winnie M Li is an activist, educator, and author of three novels. A former film producer, her debut novel Dark Chapter was nominated for an Edgar Award and translated into ten languages. Her follow-up Complicit was a New York Times Editors’ Choice and her third novel, What We Left Unsaid, has been called ‘a unique slant on the Great American Road Trip’ by The Irish Times. A Harvard graduate, Winnie’s writing often explores…
