About the event

In seeking to understand the history of greater Los Angeles from 1830 to 1930, the lives of the Workman and Temple families can be helpful in giving that history a human face. Their various activities, with all of the ups and downs that many families experience, are representative of much of what happened in our region.

Join Museum Director Paul R. Spitzzeri as he summarizes that century and follows family members into the more recent past.

The Homestead Museum acknowledges that it is situated on part of the traditional, ancestral, and unceded Gabrieleño/Tongva/Kizh land. We recognize the Indigenous peoples of this territory as the traditional stewards and pay our respects to Indigenous peoples, their ancestors, elders, relatives, and relations, past, present, and emerging.
