About the event

For 130 years, the Workman and Temple family had meaningful ties to the mission and city of San Gabriel. Beginning in 1842, when mission padres contested the land grant for Rancho La Puente until the death of the official mission and city historian and genealogist Thomas Workman Temple II in 1972, the families were connected to San Gabriel through sacraments and burials, support for the Mission Play and Playhouse, donation of land for City Hall, development of adjacent commercial buildings, and much more.
