About the event

As a faith healer, radio evangelist, and leader of the popular Foursquare Church, Aimee Semple McPherson was used to the spotlight. However, her five-week disappearance in 1926 raised doubts about her religious sincerity.

When Sister Aimee reappeared, she told authorities she had escaped kidnappers, but a hostile interrogation by Los Angeles District Attorney Asa Keyes suggested something else. Was Keyes' indictment of McPherson an attempt to pursue justice? Or was he more interested in ruining the reputation of a powerful woman?

Join Programs Manager Gennie Truelock in discussion as she revisits one of the most popular cases in the Female Justice series.
