Exploring the Los Angeles region from 1830 to 1930 to better understand the past and people’s ability to shape history.
To do this, the museum:
• concentrates its interpretation of the region and site on the lives of people at home and outside the home, specifically through architecture, economics, household management, and leisure.
• focuses on the decades of the 1840s, 1870s, and 1920s to more effectively show change over time.
